“ また「それわかるわかる」というような話の流れになった。
「私、前から思ってたの。あなたと私、同じ匂いがするのよ」
「何ていうの？万人受けしないっていうか？」
いや、私はそんな「噛めば噛むほど味の出るスルメのような人（だからOK）」みたいな話をしたいわけじゃないのです･･････と思いつつ、「同じ匂い」というのはわからんでもないよね、とも思った。（でも、「匂いがしない」という点で共通している、といった方がより正確かもしれない。）
ちなみに彼女も結婚している。（子どももいる。）

「恋愛至上主義」とか「恋愛市場」とか「恋愛偏重の風潮が（云々）」という話が出るけれど、「モテる」「モテない」というのはやっぱりその枠内の話なんだろうと思う。
年を取ってきていよいよそういうのがどうでもいい心境になってきて、「ああ、私ってば『その枠からこぼれ落ちる人』だったのに、若い頃は一生懸命自分をそこへ入れ込もうとしてたんだなあ、やれやれ」という感慨とともに、どうやら「こぼれ落ちる人」って私だけじゃないらしい、とか、ひょっとしたらそんなに珍しくないのかも、ということがだんだん見えてきた。
そして、そういう人って案外スルっと結婚してることが多いのではないか。

これって結局、「私は生まれた時からおじいちゃんみたいなおばあちゃんなんです」って話になるんだろうか。 ”
